TTT: Finished Series

I’m kind of horrid with series. I will read a book, love it, promise to read the sequel and the next books afterward, then forget about this promise because often I find another book I’d rather read. Sometimes it’s because it’s an UNFINISHED series and I then forget about the sequels when they come out a year later. Often this is because I read what I’m in the mood to read. There are very few times where I will read books in the same series consecutively.

Anyway, I’ve read too many “book one” books in series. A bunch of them are unfinished and many others are books in series that I don’t plan on continuing. In any case, these are the finished series I kind of want to continue–though with my pace, it’s going to take a while, lol.

Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

fables

Fables by Bill Willingham – The last issue came out this year, and the final volume, Fables #22: Farewell, has been up for grabs since July. I love this fairy tale series, though I had been hoping it’d finally end. I don’t think I could take another disaster happening to some of my favorite characters!

unwindUnwind by Neal Shusterman – You know, I didn’t even know that Unwind was only the first book of a series! The book was super-creepy and is still by far one of my favorite dystopias to date. I should probably read the rest of this dystology at some point.

parasolprotectorate

Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger – I’m still on the fence about reading the rest of the series, only because I’m not sure anything can top my fondness for Soulless. Still, steampunk and werewolves and vampires, oh my!

wheeloftime

Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan – This series is loooooooooooooooong. I can only handle so much epic fantasy before I lose my mind. I will try to read at least one a year, but no promises there, considering I did sign up to read quite a number of epic fantasy books that I haven’t delivered yet.

grisha

Grisha by Leigh Bardugo – No excuse here, really. I have the entire trilogy now so I really should get up on this series and finish it.

sevenwaters

Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier – At first I thought this was a trilogy, which was okay, fine. Turns out there are six books in total here. Not that I HAVE to continue the series, considering each book looks like a standalone since each story deals with a different female from the Sevenwaters family.

daughtersmokebonetrilogy

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – Also no excuse to not having read the rest of this trilogy. Well, actually, I don’t have the other two books yet, so maybe that’s what’s stopping me. Somewhat.

mazerunnertrilogy

Maze Runner by James Dashner – I mean to reread the first book and then finish the rest of the trilogy before I watch the second movie. There are also two prequels (one coming out in 2016) for this book, but I’m not counting them as part of the original series.

didiusfalco

Marcus Didius Falco by Lindsey Davis – I got pretty far into this series, though it is rather difficult to get paperback copies of the books these days. The first few books were easy enough, since they were re-issued, but the others are a bit more difficult. I love this historical mystery, though, especially when the Roman main character is hilarious as hell.

fablehaven

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull – Gaaah. I always pass this series by when I head to Books of Wonder, but I don’t know why I never bother to read the rest. Maybe I’ll actually put it in a list so I remember.

  1. Wheel of Time – good one to finish. The rest? Sheesh, you’ve not even finished the Mercy Thompson books. Of course, that is not called a ‘series’, so you are off the hook there. (?)

    1. I bought the maze runner trilogy for my sister on her birthday and she’s still stuck on book two and refusing to let me read it. I’m going to have to steal it at some point, like I did with the HP books XD

  2. Ok never heard of Fables but Oh my Gods it looks awesome! Unwind and Parasol are both on my list but didn’t make the cut to top ten. And Daughter, Grisha and Wheel are all on my TBR but I agree the problem is they keep making series. Someone tell them to stop for a year so I can catch up on Anne of Green Gables!

  3. I am greedy and I still want MORE from the Sevenwaters series, I can never get sick of that family. I also need to finish Fables at some point, but I am the worst procrastinator with graphic novels. And that Lindsey Davis series looks amazing just on the cover alone, how do I not know of them?!

    1. Haha. My bestie actually recommended the Lindsey Davis series after she’d read a book in high school. She’s not normally a reader, so if something caught her attention, I just HAD to try it! And I love the series, so I stuck with it, haha.
